Random Acts of Vintage Vocals

Time: 1940's
Place: Somewhere in the European Theater of War WWII
Scene: A worship service in the trenches. Note the altar set up on the hood of a jeep...
Say amen, somebody!

If you'd like to be a part of this, join us at Peachtree City in April for the WWII Heritage Weekend. Dress the part!

Lights! Camera! Action!

"All Aboard" we sing, with Samantha's help at the Hearts for Heroes Concert! Looks easy, doesn't it? Well, read on....

Every gig involves a lot of behind-the-scenes work which is often challenging, given our height, or lack thereof. We always find willing helpers, however....thank goodness!

We get to meet a lot of interesting people at some of our performances...Dennis is of course, standing on a chair while we are kneeling in a trench. This was taken at the Hearts For Heroes Event at the Strand in Marietta. Poor Mary...missed this concert...lucky Samantha...got to sub in and meet one of her favorite TV stars!

Once again, featuring our alternate singer Samantha, who often subs for Mary, this time at our premiere performance at The Mighty 8th AF Museum in Pooler, GA. If you haven't visited this outstanding attraction, put it on your bucket list!

The Many Faces of Vintage Vocals

For the first "Last Reunion of the Mighty 8th AF" in Savannah, we pulled out all the stops and among many other surprises, created special gift bags for all 'our guys and gals,' which contained goodies ranging from Southern Comfort to the printed lyrics from "The Farewell Waltz' released in their honor that very year!
"Wee Willie Winkie(s) ran through the town...upstairs, downstairs, in their nightgowns," or rather, in our PJ's and their Mighty 8th autographed tee shirts, running through the hotel singing "Good-night, Sweetheart" to our sweet vets and presenting the above-mentioned goody-bags as we tucked them in!

What better way to present a medley from "Sister Act" than to don Catholic School Girl get-ups? Maybe nuns' habits? Nope, these are cuter...at least that's our story and we're stickin' to it!

Ah, youth! Not gonna tell you how long ago this was taken, but will mention that it was St. Paddy's at Barnsley Gardens. We haven't changed a bit, have we?

More Random V. V. Doins'

Out of uniform? You bet and not just when we don the bodices and romp around the Ga. Renaissance Festival or Biltmore on Medieval Weekend. This shot was taken at our Christmas concert at a senior residential village in Loganville where it was up to Santa to decide whether we were naughty or nice...

One of our favorite venues which we don't get to sing in nearly enough because it's in So. Ga., is the SAM Shortline Excursion Train, which runs from Cordele to Plains, Ga., and often features fun themes like The Candy Cane Train or Polar Express in December and the Vidalia Onion Festival Special in the spring. Except for key personnel like the engineer, etc., the train is run almost completely by dedicated volunteers. It's another one of Georgia's best-kept secrets!
